I hesitate to call this place Italian food. Denny's has a more authentic Italian food. I have been here twice and it's as if they are trying to add "Utah flare" to Italian food. The salads are good but something you would have at a Texas Roadhouse. The service was very good and it's a nice family place. However I would never take my kids here and say "this is Italian food" I'll leave it at that.

The food here is nostalgic and tastes okay. The restaurant is really run down. It was dirty and the carpet was worn out. Our server was rude. She literally dropped the garlic bread on the table and left without a word. Although I wouldn't say all of the servers behaved this way, this one server in particular ruined the experience for me. If we ever come here again, it will be take out.

I liked the simplicity in their cooking; the garlic bread, the pasta and the pizza. Simple and good, with big portions. Order your pizza well-done. I recommend

Had dinner there last night with my daughters , waitress was nice and sweet and always had our glasses filled. Food was horrible , lasagna was cold and reheated salmon had no flavor and was a frozen piece of fish. Vegetables were brown and freezer burned, daughters chicken Parmesan was bland and overcooked . Waist of money

This has been around for years and that is my only explanation for how busy it is. The food is not very good the tables are very close and it is loud. Mediocre food, packed in and noisy not a great combo

Excellent food! I love the shrimp salad and lasagne! Excellent customer service. The wait time is usually a little long, but their take out service is top notch.

It was alright. We had a about 30 people in our party. We ordered pizzas and salads. The we're good, not great, but not as bad as the reviews ask claim. Service was good. It was a Saturday afternoon after the rush, so it was slow. I have no complaints.

Honestly I have been going here before I was even born. The food use to be good when I was little but maybe it was because I was little that it was even good. I would equate the food quality to Chef Boyarde. The sauce features lots of water and tomatoes like someone just threw wet tomatoes into a blender and spread onto my pizza. My pizza was wet, yes that's right WET and everything tasted like it came out of a can or a lunchable. My pasta was flavorless gluey and lukewarm. Sure their salad is good but how can you going wrong when you use a premade salad kit? I honestly don't understand Bountiful's taste in food (or lack thereof). If you want food like this open a can of ravoli and put your tombstone pizza in the oven. I honestly get better pizza from Costco.

Food was as it has always been. Service was the worst. One server for 8-10 tables isn't enough, and we got the rotten end of it.

The decor is extremely dated, it's been the same since I was a kid, the service is usually wretched, and the food is mostly subpar. It really does seems like it's frozen food. I like the pizza, it's the only pizza I've ever had that is better reheated. The garlic bread is good as well, and whatever ranch dressing they use is tasty.

I will make this short and sweet. The food here reminds me of school lunch. Veggies out of a can, sauce out of a package and garlic bread that looks exactly like the stuff you buy from the freezer section at your grocery store. This service is acceptable. But that's it. The prices are acceptable. There is plenty of parking. Every time I have been here the place is packed with people. I would never choose to eat here because its not my thing. I prefer my food to be fresh and flavorful which this is not. These are my opinions and obviously not those of others, because this place is always busy. I don't understand why its busy but it is

If you like paying a lot for frozen TV dinners, come here!! The lasagna was for sure Stouffers...not to mention the main dish was comparable to Chef Boyardee! Never ever ever again.

FOOD COMA!!! And not one that is worth it.. The restaurant is pretty big so it's great for big groups. Went here on a work team lunch, so it was nice it was free! Lunch time and there was a good amount of people. You start with complimentary bread sticks and ranch. Not a combination I've ever come across but it was pretty good. I decided on the Chicken Alfredo and added sautéed mushrooms for $1.80.. that's a little pricey but I took advantage. You have a choice of soup, salad, or both and price goes up on each, depending on what you choose. I went with salad. All the pastas also come with a piece of garlic bread they bring out first. Bread - I prefer the breadsticks. This was just some butter on a regular piece of toast that wasn't special or crispy. Salad - Iceburg lettuce isn't my favorite.. includes one slice of pepperoni, beets, and olives. I actually liked their ranch but the salad was just okay. Chicken Alfredo - I'm picky with pasta sauce. I don't like when it's too runny or if there's too much and my dish had both. It was also lacking in flavor, very bland. The chicken was okay. The mushrooms didn't seem fresh and weren't really flavorful. It also came with a strawberry! That was probably my favorite part. Service was extremely slow.. Our lunch was 1.5 hours even though we ordered within 5 minutes of being seated and ate fairly quickly. You get a generous amount of food but i'm not sure it's worth it. Not sure if I would come back but if I did, I would probably try the pizza instead.

Pathetic, garlic bread looks like something like a 5 year old made by rubbing some old white bread with butter only on one side. If u drink beverages are limited and not listed on the menu. Its loud, hard to enjoy a date. We ordered the 13inch house special. It was sliced poorly, tasted less than store bought pizza. Definetly do not recommend if coming for pizza and garlic bread with your loved ones.

Wow, this place is no bueno! I regretfully ignored all of the bad reviews on yelp simply because we have found that north salt lake and bountiful are seriously lacking if not void of Italian restaurants. This place also happens to be near our house and the lot is almost always packed so we figured what the heck, perhaps it is one of those places that is such a local institution that people don't even think to review it. I also started to make justifications as we walked in and noticed that precisely 98.3% (jk I I didn't actually do the math) of the patronage were in their late 80s to early 90s, and thought "oh I see, old people don't review things, much less know what a yelp is, other then how it relates to a the way a dog barks" so I assumed it must just be underrated... Sadly I must agree with another yelper who stated that Denny's carries more authentic Italian food! Their menu is tired and sad, only the real basic american stereotypical choices, nothing creative. Even the pizza toppings selection is basic an sad. The decor is dated and dirty, or table was sticky and it and our chairs were wobbly. The service was terrible and our waitress only stopped by to take our order, drop off our food and drop off our check. Another thing I hated was that they have you take your ticket up to the front to pay, oh don't worry I love standing in line for 10 minutes like a douche carrying a set of twins in car seats. I'm thinking that the pizza is probably OK if you are in the mood for real standard american toppings, but the sauce on my wife Fettuccini tasted like flour water, and the sauce on my "chicken ala robintiono" was like ketchup mixed with a bit odd ranch dressing. Our waters tasted like dirty tap water and the steamed veggie sides tasted like day old canned garbage. I would never easy here again nor would I ever suggest it to anyone else, if I heard that a friend of mine liked it, in not sure we could be friends anymore...

This restaurant tasted like everything came from the frozen food aisle at the supermarket. No thank you. They try to make up for it by giving you more garlic bread than any human should eat at one time. Service was fine though.

  • Chelsea B.

I ate here with my husband and the place is dated and dirty. The service was terrible and the food wasn't any better. My husband ordered pizza that he said was sub par except for the sausage on it. I ordered the spaghetti with meat sauce and it was so bland I left most if it. We won't be going back.

  • Erika D.

I agree with others that the service has gone downhill, but take out service is good. The food is not the best you will get, but it is consistent in quality and good value. My favorite is their house salad with ranch dressing and although I dislike thousand island dressing, my mom, sister, and grandma all swear it is the best anywhere.

I love Robintino's pizza! I think it is way better than most delivery pizza. The breadsticks are great, and I love their ranch. I have not tried a lot of the other items on the menu because I always want pizza, but it sure looks good when other people order it! Who doesn't like pizza!!! Mmmm

The positives... Family friendly. There's plenty of food choices, portions are big, and lots of space for large groups. The staff are friendly, prompt, and above all else provide good customer service. The dining area is clean, menu is priced well. The negatives... Not very authentic. The pastas aren't as flavourful as other Italian restaurants, but the red sauce dishes, are better than the white. The breadsticks and garlic bread aren't anything fancy, but they're good enough as a side dish, and there's plenty for everyone in the family. Would I recommend this place? Yes, for families wanting a nice affordable meal. No, for a guy (or girl) taking their date out for "fancy authentic Italian".

I have been a fan of this place for years but it has gone down hill fast. When I first got seated it took her ten minutes to greet me. I hate this idea of come greet the people once they know what they want. The ranch dressing has been switched a number of times. They switched their cheese then switched it back. It makes me sad this place has gone to crap. Price has increased. Quality has decreased. Yelpers are so right.

The food is tasty , but the service was sub par . The hostess was rude and we didn't have any silverware and when they finally brought it they only brought us forks and one knife . The water also has a weird taste , I ordered the chicken Parm which was Pretty good .

I was dragged to Robintino's for the fourth time tonight by my Wife. She ate at Robintino's growing up, so she is oblivious to the fact it's pretty much terrible food. The first three times were less than satisfactory, but I tried to remain positive that I could find something decent to eat. My optimism didn't last very long. First, if the wait time is near 40 minutes, don't tell the customer it will only take 25 minutes to be seated. Second don't have a seating area upstairs which makes your customers feel like they are eating in the upstairs of their Grandma's house. Third, clean your menus on a nightly basis. Mine looked as though it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Onto the actual food. The vegetables in the Minestrone soup were hard, the marinara on the pasta had a funky taste and the chicken parm was a processed chicken patty with a piece of cheese on top. Also for some reason they had out of season strawberries as a side dish. I also have no idea why they serve the garlic bread with the salad and not the main entree. I wish Gordon Ramsey could be called in because he would have a field day with this place. I told my wife I'm never going back no matter the occasion. As far as I can figure out, Robintino's only remains in business due to nostalgia and sadly, it's about the only option for sit down Italian food in the Bountiful/Centerville area.

Great pizza! I have been going here for over 20 years. I've never had a bad experience with service or food. I'm always very happy with my experiences here. Great service, great food great all around atmosphere.

  • David S.

Just don't eat here. Please. It's like eating at a bad church dinner, and you paid to go there. I can't believe they can serve food like that and expect people to show up and eat it. But they do. And I did. I'm so ashamed.

  • Jason H.

I don't know why everybody is slamming this place. If you are looking for authentic Italian food then go to Italy. I have been eating here for the eons. The food is consistent and is always good and hot. Yeah there can be a long wait to be seated some nights but that is everywhere not just here. If that's the case they must be doing something right. The pizza is good. It's not all greasy like pizza from some places is. Plus they have the best garlic bread hands down. They are also very willing to work with you to make your pizza more customized to you. I like that. The rest of the food on the menu is great also. So don't listen to all these negative reviews and try it out for yourself.

I've been going to Robintino's since I was a little kid. I remember eating their pizza and loving that they just wrapped it up in a huge piece of foil when you asked for a doggy bag (or a box, whatever). My mom goes here every week with my gramma. Seriously though, I think people in Bountiful go because, well, that's where their gramma took them for pizza when they were little. That's where their mom threw their birthday pizza party. That's where their jr. high took them in a limo for selling the most magazines (oh, wait. maybe that was only me). It's just they go where they've always gone and maybe the lasagna is frozen in the middle because they freeze it and microwave it and maybe there are a bunch of screaming kids. But, the waitresses know their names and are friendly. Personally, I'm a little over it.

  • Christie H.

I wish I could give this place half a star. That half-star would be for great parking (cause nobody wants to eat there). If your craving Italian keep driving and find something else. Better yet, go to the store and by a frozen pizza... Save your cash!

    (1)
  • Dan T.

What is happening to the people of Bountiful, that they fill the parking lot every day and night (except Sunday) of this sad, sad excuse for italian food? I can't find it guys. I don't see it. Tons and tons of cheap cheeses covering absolutely nominal food. I don't get it... Service is OK, but the rest of the list comes in wanting. Decor is a step down from Hometown Buffet, it's always crowded, and for what! Maybe tradition, but sometimes it is health for traditions to die... like polygamy, or Robintino's.

  • Douglas D.

True to the other institutional restaurants in Bountiful, Robintino's is merely trying to sock away as much cash as possible before the succeeding generations, blinded by happy family memories, realize they can get the same food for cheaper on aisle 16 at any local grocery store. They have brass rails and dark green carpet. Shiny brass rails, and frosted glass. Did I mention the brass is shiny? Okay. Everything, and I mean everything on the menu has a slight tinny taste -- most likely because it's been resting in someone's basement food storage for the last 20 years. Regretfully, my protests have fallen on deaf ears and I've been pulled into this bastion of confusion many times. I have tried about every item on the menu; first as a desperate attempt to find something redeeming, now as a challenge to see how just how bad it can really get. Believe me, it can get bad. If someone hijacks your car and forces you to withdraw all the money from the nearest ATM, then makes you go to Robintino's before ending your life in a shallow ditch in the west desert, get the pizza. It's only half bad.

My pizza had canned mushrooms on it. Food is bland and gross. This place is always busy which always shocks me. Not sure why people keep wasting there money here.

30 years ago, Robintino's turned out good pizza and that's how they became an institution in Bountiful. The pastas and other entrees have always been a little dodgy. Their best pasta is the lasagna, and it's always been premade, frozen and then microwaved for service. That's why it's too hot when it first hits the table and that's why it tastes like canned mush. 30 years ago, the food was good enough, but the stodgy old recipes haven't aged well and it's truly a pretty awful place now especially when you consider the improvements in pizza and restaurant quality that Robintino's has failed to embrace over time. You could say the place is good for kids, and it is, but even giving them that, it's too pricy for the quality and there are better choices. The ridiculous ranch dressing/breadstick appetizer they bring is a throwback to the days when it was first introduced as a complimentary antipasti plate with a few vegetables, including a couple of olives with the breadsticks and dressing. A great idea which showed some interest in a good dining experience, but it's quickly devolved to first drop the expensive olives and other "exotic" vegetables, like cauliflower, for just carrots and celery and now the only survivors are the breadsticks and ranch. Pathetic. Time to reboot or shut down this place.

I only half wanted to try out Robintino's in Bountiful; the reviews were only so-so, with a few scathing negative reviews. But, I had an "$8 off" any pizza coupon, was ready for something new, and decided to brave Robintino's! Let me start by saying that I LOVE great pizza. I LIKE good pizza. But no more settling for crap pizza anymore. I'm getting too old to have pizza all the time, so when I do, I want it to be at LEAST good. BTW I'm also a tight wad. I don't mind paying for expensive pizza, but it better be GREAT. Around here, my standard for "GREAT" is "The Pie", and any similarly priced pizza better be close in quality. I ate at "Zeponie's last week, and it was good, not great. But, good nonetheless. So that brings me to Robintino's. It is good Pizza. It is NOT great Pizza, but it is priced like great pizza. I bought a large (15") meat combo. With the coupon it was $10. That was a good deal. But, regular price would have been $18. The first question is was it good quality pizza? Yes. We ordered carryout (by the way, they don't have an online menu, and the girl who answered the phone had a hard time walking me through their different choices.) and it was ready in 15 minutes. It was fresh, smelled very good in the car, and felt pretty substantial judging by the weight. When I opened it up, I was a little disappointed that they put all their toppings on top of the cheese. I prefer it mostly the other way around. From the first bite my opinion was "good not great." The second question is whether I would pay $18 for it a second time if I didn't have a coupon. The answer is easily NO. A bit overpriced for me, but I may try it again if I have another similar coupon, or I may not. Zeponie's is on the way home form work, a little cheaper, and better pizza. The Pie is still the best (though we don't go very often, as I am the only one in my fanily who likes it, strangely enough.)

This place is not good. We went there because it's usually fairly busy and I have no clue why. From their bread to their salad to their entrees this place is bad Italian.

    (1)
  • Brenna D.

Absolutely awful! My Alfredo sauce was obviously from a jar. I took one bite and couldn't touch it again. They didn't even apologize. They only refill your dink once and it's so full of ice you hardly get anything. Their one saving grace is their bread sticks and ranch. But you can get that anywhere.

    (1)
  • Chad L.

I can sum up the food at this place in two words: bland and disgusting. I'd rather eat at McDonalds, which I loathe, than go here ever again. We ordered a pizza, salad, and fettuccini alfredo. I don't know how you screw those up at an Italian place. I can not for the life of me understand why this place is always busy, other than life long residents remembering it's glory days and continuing to frequent it.

  • Kelli M.

Robintino's is steeped in tradition as several other reviewers pointed out. It is a place that most of those of us, who grew up here, have been going to since we were kids. It's a Utah original. I will be the first to admit that it's definitely not as good as it used to be, but I'm still giving it 4 stars! I think over the years they've changed several recipes, are not making as much of the food from scratch as they used to and/or are perhaps using cheaper ingredients. The first thing to change was their bread sticks. They used to be melt in your mouth delicious. They used to be really soft and fluffy, but now they have a hard outer crust and most of the time are pretty dry as well. We don't get these anymore unless we're dining in and the only reason we get them then is because they are automatically delivered to your table. Half the time, they end up uneaten, when we used fight over who would eat the last one. This change happened over 10 years ago. I think they have slightly altered their pizza crust recently, but overall the pizza is exactly as I remember it from my youth. I live in Chicago now, which is known for their Italian cuisine and pizza, and yes there are many places there that are more authentic and 100 times better in general, but whenever I come home for a visit my trip is not complete without dining at Robintino's at least once. Its a unique style of pizza. Not Chicago style (which, frankly, I get tired of) not exactly NY style, not Sicilian , not thin crust, not overly thick crust. It's just Robintino's style and I like it! I should also mention, I LOVE their 1000 Island dressing. It's very unique, house made (still is as far as I know), and it's neon pink!! I will continue to eat here whenever I'm in town (for as long it's around) simply because it is tradition, it is local, it is good (for the most part) and most importantly, to me it is more than a piece of pizza, it's a piece of home.

Wow..... I am going to side with those that rated this establishment poor. I'm not sure what David C and Fussy were thinking with the 3 & 4 star... but this place really sucks! From the sauce out of a can, to the service, the management, and yes, even the owner..... I won't get into the details which lead me to speaking with the owner a few years ago, but let me say this.... If I ever treated customers like this I would shut down and try to get a job in customer service so I could receive some training on how the customer is always right...As far as what matters (the food), horrible. Pizza is average at best, pasta is average, sauces are well below standard and I will bet that nothing is made from scratch... I beg you, get some bobilli and some sauce (or some ragu & dry pasta) from the grocery store and make your own pizza/pasta at home before you even think about going to Robintion's.....

My Hottie Blade and I spent several days in Italy last month and had some great food. How would Robintino's in Bountiful measure up? Robintino's gets 31 of 50 Fussy Fusspot Points... and 3 stars --- Clean table and dishes? 3 of 5 points. I had to send my silverware back twice because it wasn't clean. Clean server? 5 of 5 points. She was clean and very very nice. Clean bathroom? 3 of 5 points. Relatively clean. Subtotal = 11 of 15 Fussy Points on the Clean Scale. Service? 4 of 5 points. The service was prompt and friendly. Ambiance? 2 of 5 points. Aside from the matching green aprons that all the servers were wearing, there was nothing here that was unique or engaging. Friends from Finland Practical Scale? 5 of 5 points. Quite practical, actually. Food? 5 of 10 points. I started with the minestrone soup - rather average. For the main course I had the lasagne - it was too hot to eat when it first arrived at the table so I had to wait - once it cooled off it was pretty good. Price/Food ratio? 4 of 5 points. Nice sized portions - not too big and not too small. Bonus? 0 of 5 points. Total: 31 Fussy Fusspot Points.

Bland food. Outdated building. Don't know why people eat here.

    (1)
  • Josh L.

Yeah, its bad. I have been here three times in my life only because I have several friends that work here. The breadsticks aren't that great, my Alfredo was kinda bland, and the environment reminds me of my grandmas house. I wouldn't go here if it wasnt to make fun of my friends while they serve us dinner. Go to olive garden instead, its worth the drive downtown.

    (3)
  • Ryan D.

Eaten here for years and I can't complain to much. I don't know much about most of the menu because I have gotten the same thing every time for as long as I can remember. It's not nearly as bad as the arm chair restaurant critics who think they have supremely refined palates because they watched the last season of Top Chef say it is.

    (3)
  • Whitney P.

Chef boyardee cooked here before he learned how to cook. I'm a transplant so I didn't grow up on this stuff, but they serve bread with ranch dressing? instead of olive oil or butter. The only thing that was worth returning for was the Heineken.

Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations.
